The Dearman-Hubbard Transport Refrigeration Unit is in Rotterdam to meet some of Europe’s most environmentally conscious fleet owners and operators.
Dearman intends to demonstrate its zero-emission technology in the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, France and Belgium. In Rotterdam, the reaction so far has been both positive and enthusiastic and is proof that the impact of local air quality on society and corporate responsibility to contribute in tackling pollution is very much on the agenda.
The first stop on Dearman’s European tour was Rotterdam, while less touristy than its neighbouring Dutch cities, Rotterdam hosts the largest port in Europe, making it an important transit, logistical and marine centre. The Netherlands has been required to meet EU rules on the concentration of nitrogen oxides (NOx) in the atmosphere since 2015 and has struggled to meet these rules. Air pollution is the third biggest cause of death in the Netherlands, and the Dearman-Hubbard system is one solution that can help reduce NOx and particulate matter (PM).
Commenting, Jan De Waard Dearman’s Vice-President for European Sales, said:
“Visiting potential customers in Rotterdam with Dearman’s clean cold system is very exciting. The Dearman-Hubbard Transport Refrigeration Unit is perfectly placed to help the Netherlands meet the toughest air quality regulations and still offer superior cooling performance and quiet, cost effective operation.”
